North Devon & Cornwall Junction Light Railway Centenary

Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July 2025
North Devon & Cornwall Junction Light Railway Centenary

In the 200th year of the modern railway, join us as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the North Devon and Cornwall Junction Light Railway. A full one hundred years after the opening of the first passenger railway, the Stockton and Darlington Railway in 1825, the ND&CJLR marked the end of railway building in Devon being the last line to open in the county in 1925.

Class 143617 will be providing a passeneger service throughout the weekend and our recently restored BR 20T brakevan will be open for viewing. Alongside this various historical displays will be on show detailing the history of the NDCJLR and the clay industry that it was built to serve.
